ScholarLightEd traces its roots to a late-night study session at Mount Holyoke College. While revising scholarship essays for friends, our founder—Loretah—promised herself that she would one day guide other dreamers toward the same academic doors she was learning to open.Years later, after earning a Biology degree (with a Statistics minor) and completing a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts, USA, she has turned that promise into a mission.Those dorm-room edits grew into countless successful applications for family, friends, and mentees. Today, ScholarLightEd is the formal expression of that passion: a student-centered consulting agency focused on making world-class education attainable and affordable for ambitious learners—especially across Africa—who refuse to let circumstance set their ceiling.
